After you have formed the habit of listening first, next comes the challenge of having an effective conversation. Start with Difficult Conversations by Stone, Patton and Heen. With the basics in place turn your skills inward with Fierce Conversations by Scott. These books will help your communication skills. Then get out there and practice listening.
