Effective consulting requires a commitment of time and talent combined with a candid exchange of information and opinion. It requires trust, which must be established. BTC initiates the client relationship by developing an assessment report that allows clients to measure the capabilities and judge the performance of BTC before engaging the services of BTC for a specific project.

Prior to beginning a client relationship, BTC delivers an assessment report that gathers information about objectives, assets, liabilities, business, investments, taxes, contracts, agreements and other pertinent data. BTC will interview business associates and others as appropriate. BTC will provide a written report that contains an analysis of the situation and recommends a scope of work. This report will enable the client to accurately assess the benefit of BTC services.

The assessment report includes:

  • Statement of client's values and objectives.
  • Strategic issues and opportunities.
  • Action plan potential and execution opportunities.
  • Recommended scope of work and approach.
  • Projected benefits.
  • The compensation for services.

The planning process involves an assessment, the setting of goals, identification of action plans, execution of the action plans, and an assessment of the effect of the execution of the action plans. In dynamic companies this process is continuous. Most companies never truly learn how to implement and maintain the process. The assessment report is a proven way to start.
