Leadership Skills

Critical leadership characteristics directly relate to organizational success. These characteristics include strategic thinking, selecting and developing talent, implementing change, and building the desired organizational culture. Failure to identify these characteristics and develop them in future leaders will negatively affect the business operation.

Potential leaders must be identified and trained. These leaders must have the appropriate skills to successfully manage the business.

Initially, management must define the core skills and capabilities associated with success for each key position. Then management should evaluate the various competencies of the most promising employees. When a leader is identified, leadership skills should be taught and developed.

BTC can improve leadership skills through a series of periodic individual or group coaching sessions that focus on one or more of the following goals:

  • Evaluating creative ideas for personal and business growth.

  • Improving relationships between managers.

  • Creating a stronger vision of the company's strengths and potential.

  • Identifying conflicts and weaknesses that are holding back business progress.

  • Developing processes for focusing decisions and taking timely actions.

  • Evaluating relationships and structures to identify bottlenecks to personal and business growth.

  • Identifying and improving negative management behaviors (being too assertive or argumentative).

  • Achieving a better balance between business and personal needs.

  • Increasing time management skills.
